From the manufacturer
About Us
The Autolite story began in 1911 when two small companies started producing buggy lamps, becoming a thriving automotive parts manufacturer by the 1930s. But its history as a spark plug manufacturer began in 1935 when Royce G. Martin, President of the Electric Autolite Company, equipped and staffed a lab to develop the first Autolite spark plug. Leading the project was Robert Twells, a ceramic engineer, who eagerly researched current patents and ceramic insulator technology.
With a handful of new draftsman and staff members, it only took a few months before the Electric Autolite Company had a spark plug available for distribution. Autolite had instant success, as the brand supplied spark plugs and other ignition parts to well-known automotive leaders including Chrysler, Studebaker, Packard and Willys.

The only concern I had was when I received the package that the 4-pack box was opened and missing a piece of the corner (not damaged from shipping) and it appeared as if someone took a quick look at one of the plugs and accidentally ripped a piece out of the box but nothing serious, the individual four boxes were intact otherwise other than one of the individual boxes looked like it was opened once.
I tried to be artistic with the photo, I hope you enjoy it.
I have not installed these plugs yet but if I have any issues I will come back and edit my review otherwise I will leave a 5-star for now as I have used this brand in my other two vehicles without issues so far.

Here are the install directions for your convenience from the autolite website:
- Unplug and remove ignition coils. Inspect coil boots for cracking or oil staining. If you have oil in the spark plug wells or on the boots, the valve cover gasket is leaking and must be replaced.
- Loosen each spark plug so it can be removed. Clean the seat area with a blast of compressed air or with a shop vac, use proper PPE. This prevents dirt from falling into the combustion chamber when the old plugs are removed.
- Remove the plugs and line them up in cylinder order. Inspection of the firing ends of the plugs can identify a number of engine problems that may need correction. (illus. 3)
- Check and set the gap on new plugs as recommended in your owner's manual or a Spark Plug Catalog. Use a round feeler gauge to measure the gap between the center and ground electrode. The gauge should pass through snugly but easily. If it's too loose or too tight, reset the gap.
- Screw new plugs in by hand until tight. Use a torque wrench to tighten the spark plugs following the manufacturer's recommendations, or refer to a torque chart in the Spark Plug Catalog. If you don't have a torque wrench, see the bottom of the torque chart for hand tightening recommendations.
- Replace the coils Before installing the coils, put a small amount of dielectric grease inside the spark plug boot. Check to see if the boots are brittle or cracked, and if there is corrosion on the connector inside the boot. If any of these conditions are present, the spark plug boots should be replaced.
- Start the engine. If it misfires or idles roughly, the wires are crossed or not connected to the plugs correctly. Check the firing order and connections closely.
