They have a small amount of elastic to create a subtle retention on a double stacked magazine. A single stack is a little loose inside. With one running as an open top I have not had any issues with my magazine falling out during running, excersices, or traversing over obstacles. I included a picture of my plate carrier upside down retaining a loaded 17 round magazine in the pouch.
The draw is fairly quick when running it open top. They are fairly deep magazine pouches, so it only leaves about an inch and a half of an extended baseplate out of the top. The lack of true retention allows them to slide right out when you pull.
Condor's molle straps are a little odd. They function fine and hold the load, but there are better designs out there.
I've worn them on my plate carrier for approximately 900 hours and through countless hours of reload practice; I dont see them failing anytime soon.
If you're looking for a basic set of magazine pouches that are budget friendly and functional, these might be for you.

I wanted to find a pistol magazine pouch that I could use for recreational and tactical shooting. I wanted it to have molle attachments and be somewhat easy to use.
Current Use:
I use the Condor Double Pistol Mag Pouch for my 9mm double stack PPQ mags. They are held in by the elastic side bands and fit in tight, so I know they're not going to fall off. I use the mag pouch both on a battle belt and on my 2" 5.11 belt.
Thoughts on Product:
Having the fold over magazine straps has its pluses and minuses. It's great for covering your mags from rain or dirt, if that's an issue. However, if you're trying to speed reload, I would suggest folding the straps behind the mag so they're easier to grab onto. This makes it much harder to re-insert a spent mag, but I'd rather just drop them in a dump pouch anyways.
The molle attachments for the mag pouch fit nice and tight, which is what I wanted. I haven't had any wiggling or straps popping off so far when it's on my battle belt. When they're just on my 2" belt, it's definitely a lot more loose, but that's to be expected.
For the price, I'm actually pretty impressed with the quality and ruggedness of the mag pouch. I've been considering purchasing another so I can have 4 mags available for my pistol instead of two.
Definitely recommend for the price and quality!
