Product Description
The GH compact heavy duty unit heater is designed for use as primary or supplemental heat sources in large or exposed areas, including commercial stores, workshops, barns, storage shed and garages to prevent freezing. Spiral finned steel elements and high air volume (CFM) ensure efficient heat exchange producing cooler element operation, prolonging heater life. By combining the highest quality components with a dynamically balanced fan blade, the GH unit heater will provide years of trouble-free service. Includes both a power on indicating light and a red caution light that comes on if the heater stops due to the over temperature limit tripping. A universal wall/ceiling bracket provides for quick and simple installation. The built-in thermostat turns the heater on and off to maintain the desired room temperature or a remote wall thermostat can be used. The heater is prewired to easily convert from the built-in thermostat to a wall mounted line voltage thermostat. The heater can also be controlled by purchasing a transformer relay to operate a remote 24V wall thermostat.

Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

The unit was not difficult to install. The connector block is on the bottom of the unit and is easily accessible through a hinged bottom. The design of the unit has the connector block in line with the incoming wires which makes connecting the 8 gauge wire easy since it's a straight-in connection.
The weak spot was the bracket. We used the wall mount side which means the bracket stuck out the most. The problem was, see picture, the bracket should have been welded or riveted at the corner where the seams come together to keep it from bending out of shape. Putting a self-threading sheet metal screw in each side of the bracket solved the problem (see picture).
The only other problem seemed to be the knock-outs were not sized for American connections. The smallest knock-out seemed to be for a ¾ EMT connector; but, it was too big so I got a 1” to ¾” reducing washer from Lowe's for $1 and that solved the problem.
Some people have complained about the built-in thermostat not having temperature markings. In our case it wasn't a big issue because we have thermometers in the chicken coop and we just make a mark on the dial where the unit cut off at 40 and 50 degrees.
I will edit this review after some time has passed to give you an update on how the unit is meeting our expectations.
ETA: 12/10/2016 We will put a thermostat on the unit only because we installed it in a corner of the coop and by the time the warm air circulates around the hen house and back to the heater it's about 10 degrees warmer on the other side of the hen house. We'll put a thermostat in a more central location to stabilize the temperature throughout the coop. To be absolutely fair - this coop is enclosed; but not sealed and there are two hen houses inside the 16'X20' coop that need the air circulating around them. There are small air gaps all around the coop so it's not the same as a sheet-rocked garage. We are asking this heater to do something almost impossible which is to keep the coop at a consistent temperature +/-5 degrees. Adding a remote thermostat should accomplish this goal.
One of the concerns with heaters is how dangerous extreme hot heat can be to anyone standing directly in front of it. This unit blows warm heat with a blower that circulates it nicely without feeling the hot tropical blast in one area and freezing cold in another area. One of my Guineas stands on the roost in front of the heater while it's on and preens herself. She considers it a Guinea blow-dryer. It's a bit odd that such a gentle heater can warm a drafty coop.
I'll add to the review after we install the thermostat.
ETA: 12/13/2016 This edit is to address the comment the unit was installed incorrectly. From a physics standpoint, Craig Fitzgibbons was correct. If the bracket could have been turned over, the weight of the heater would have been pushing the bracket together instead of pulling it apart. However, the bracket was designed with a notched screw hole (a big hole at the bottom so you can slip it over the head of the screw and then slide it into the notch so the head will secure the bracket to the wall) that would not allow us to turn the bracket over. The screw has to be in the notch to carry the weight of the heater.
The single bolt mounting on the top of the heater needed a long flat surface which is exactly what the wall mount gave us. I attached a picture showing the three ways to mount the bracket. We used the wall mount as it was described in the directions. Hopefully this explains the bracket mounting.
ETA: 1/9/17 We added an industrial thermostat (sealed and meant to withstand dusty conditions) to the heater in December to keep the coop at 40 degrees. Three nights ago the temperature dropped into the mid-teens with constant north winds. When I went to the coop the next morning, the temperature inside the coop was 38 degrees, which was not bad at all considering the coop is not sealed. When we installed the heater, we ran a soft red LED light from the heater to above the inside of the coop door and it comes on when the heater is on. All I have to do is a peek out the window to see if the heater is on or off.
Right now the only issue we might have is to make sure the unit is on low in case there's (or possibility of) a power outage so there's not a resource conflict when our residential generator is running.

The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is that it did not work when it was delivered. I called customer service and they guy was awesome however it took almost a month to get the replacement parts due to errors on the warehouse side.
As I was calling the tech support back to see why it was taking so long I decided to tear the unit down. Low and behold the internal heat shield was not installed properly and sitting on the tan blade which would not allow it to spin and cause the hater to thermally overload.
I quickly repaired the heat shield and even trimmed it a bit for safe measure. Once I put it back together the heater rocked.
