This tool has been a game changer as it's faster, safer to use AND makes a better opening than other methods I've used. No more sharp edges for the customer to cut themselves on when cleaning the gutters!
When I work with other guys they look as it like a toy until they see how quickly and cleanly I complete the task. After that they want to know where I got it!
I've used it a lot and it's held up very well. I did break one of the heads when I first got it but I was cutting the heavy aluminum and twisted it in a way that broke it. It was my fault and hasn't happened again since I got the hang of it. I've cut a lot of that material and it eats it up. Thankfully it comes with spare parts.
Once you get the hang of it you can cut all sorts of curves and shapes pretty easily.
Some things I've learned:
It works great with an impact driver. I think better than a drill. I only use it with an impact driver with the quick release. I use the same driver for the included drill bit and the cutting tool. swapping between them is very quick.
The cutting tip gets HOT with thick material. Hot enough to raise a blister if you touch it after cutting. This was with material that was probably too thick. If I'm cutting a lot of thick material I switch between heads to let one cool off. It still eats up that thick material easily.
A little oil on each tip before every use helps keep it running smooth and not as hot. It also keeps the cut material from sticking and clogging.
It does eject small sharp pieces of material as it's cutting. It doesn't throw them around but if you're using it above your head like I do you need safety glasses.
Bottom line. I use it on every job I do and it has held up very well. If it were to break I would pull out my phone and order another one on the spot.
I still think I was right to buy a pair of electric sheet metal shears first as my primary sheet cutter, simply because of the waste. This thing rains down 10,000 razor sharp finger nail clippings, as opposed to a nice, long, curly 1/4” strip that can be repurposed for future projects.
Still, this nibbler is perfect for cutting odd shaped holes which is where it shines. The whole kit is nice as well, as it includes extra parts and a sturdy case to hold everything together. Very happy with buying this as my “specialty cutter”. Easy to use, especially with the bench top holder also sold on Amazon.
BTW, that holder has some sketchy reviews from people that melted their drill chucks because they weren’t thinking. In their defense, the hole for the drill is a stupid design that does more harm than good. But if you’re in the market for this, you’re creative…Be creative! Mount it backwards, or chop it off…

This nibbler is cheap, compact, comes with a spare cutter and also has 2 spare heads.... one of which is on the opposite side of the tool... it’s function being beyond me. It doesn’t cut as fast as an electric shear... it only nibbles a tiny crescent shaving at a time... but it does the job and isn’t horribly slow. One advantage this has over an electric shear is that you can make really tight radius cuts with ease.. for example, the corners of a square cut.
Warning! The shavings are extremely sharp and hard to see on the floor. I have been pulling these little half moon pieces of metal out of the soles of my shoes and have been poked a couple times when kneeling on the floor. They hurt like hell and can get stuck in you, so be careful. I ended up finishing my cuts with my piece inside a big plastic tub to catch the shavings. Made cleanup a breeze but somehow I still managed to get some pieces scattered around.
I can’t see this chewing through 16 gauge metal for too long. You’ll probably wear down the tiny lip on the cutting bit real quick or possibly breaking something inside the gearbox. I haven’t opened it up but I can’t imagine it being constructed of anything other than pot metals like the rest of this thing.
After cutting 3 roughly 12”x12” squares on some 20 gauge metal, the gearbox itself was noticeably warm to the touch... maybe should pop that apart and pack it with some grease. Anyway, did the job for me and I’ll probably reach for this thing another 2... maybe 3 times this year. I’ll bet it will last long enough for my use. If you plan on doing extensive metal work... maybe just get the nice electric shears which cut many times faster than this and will likely hold up to continuous use a lot longer.
