Also, I only boiled half the bag, to check them to see how well they would do. I boiled the other half of the bag a week later and both batches were delicious. I will absolutely buy these again, and would recommend them to anyone that does not have access to the roadside boiled-peanuts found most anywhere in the south.
Don't be afraid to buy this product.
My expectations were to taste the same yummy flavor that I had when I lived in the South and would stop by a roadside stand every few miles I should have done more research prior to attempting my first batch.
Several of the peanuts in the bag were moldy which I guess happens and I threw them out.
It would have been helpful if they added rinse soak rinse again on the steps prior to actually boiling the peanuts at least that is my thought.
I rinsed them well, so I thought, according to the directions on the package and then placed them in a pot with water and the seasonings that came with it.
I ended up with a earthy tasting pot of moldy tasting peanuts really not good.
Again me being a rookie at this I learned rinse, rinse again, soak for at least 30 minutes and rinse again anyway that is how I will attempt it next time.
Also will play with the seasonings because this seemed a bit off but perhaps that was due to the uncleaned nuts.
Hope this helps with other rookies in the peanut boiling community.
