As well, the wires have a print to identify them in case colour coding doesn't line up for your harness.

Had to buy 2 of these and use the super thin metal SIM card pin that came with my phone (Galaxy S7 to be specific) to remove the wires from the extra harness.
I did this because this particular harness doesn't come with wires that the Metra Axxess ASWC-1 requires and I didn't want to wait forever for a custom made one from ae64 (subaru guys know who this is). For my particular model of 08 WRX (no nav, no bluetooth steering controls) I only needed to add wires to pin locations 4 and 14. I re-used the blue/white and white/black wires (wiring color notations: main color/stripe color).
