I attached it to a Specialized CrossTrail Disc, 2014 or 2013 model year, requiring some bending down, maybe 2-3 inches, of the two chrome mounting bracket arms.
Fits well. Unit impressively solid despite light weight. No wiggle or give.
The short instructions might mislead the mechanically disinclined, so...
IMPORTANT: Instructions say BEND the bracket arms to fit, but the arms are not meant to be BENT REPEATEDLY. This means be wary carefuwl to pre-fit the entire unit before you tighten all fasteners and commit to the bends you make. The arms will break if you flex them back and forth or in multiple places. Much cursing and aggravation will ensue, you will still not have a bike rack, and will have to go through the whole procurement process again.
To avoid this, I recommend temporarily tightening the axle bolts sufficiently to support the MTX rack platform at the angle you want...horizontal or close to it...then eyeballing both how the bracket arms need to be bent to join with the pre drilled threaded mounts on the bike frame, and which of the three bracket arm slots should be used to attach to the rack. Then attach the arms to the rack loosely enough to push around, but tight enough to stay where you move them, and eyeball again.
It may take some trial and error and several iterations of tightening and loosening the two bolts connecting each bracket arm to the rack to position the bracket arm's forward arm hole where it can be bent to match the mount holes on the bike frame. The most important thing is to first attach the rack to the axle snug enough to hold in place so you can gauge where to attach the bracket arms.
Some bikes, like the Giant FastRoad SLR, do not have threaded mounts, basically mocking any philistine who would mount a rack on such a sweet ride.
I find it good practice to add a few molecules of Never Seize or some lubricant to any threaded fasteners in case you ever need to remove the thing. I have an old bike whose attached parts without such treatment basically melted together into one solid object. Again, the cursing and aggravation thing.
I simultaneously purchased the Topeak MTX TrunkBag DXP which slides on with no rattle or play.
Of course, you can jury rig and lash any non Topeak MTX objects to this rack, but take care not to damage the MTX rails for future use with MTX compatible products.

At the time I got it, I didn't have any bike specific tools, and incredibly limited experience. But I still got it mounted myself and stable enough for use. I will include the caveat that when I next had maintenance done on the bike by a more skilled and experienced technician (not the rack's fault, I got something wedged in the chain and the gears got messed up beyond my skill level) he did inform me that my tolerances on the setup were loose, and he fixed them. I attribute that more to my tools which weren't the exact ones for the job and had issues getting the angles I needed due to their size. I think anyone with a bike multi-tool with good variety, or even just a better hex-tool set would have no issues.
Since I've had it the rack has put up with all I threw at it. Heavy bags strapped to it. Groceries strapped to it. The Topeak Trolley Tote Basket I've added to it and put even more weight into...all of it. Including me tipping the bike over once or twice with some heavy weight in that basket. This thing is tough and really holds its weight well. And the mounting system Topeak invented makes putting on and taking off that Trolley Tote Basket a breeze making it even more invaluable.
I can't recommend the rack enough as a must for commuters. It really has been a major part of my biking now and made bike commuting more of an easy joy.
I would definitely buy this again- it's a really good product, and a very good value.

I just installed it yesterday so haven't had the chance to use it yet, but it was pretty simple to install. The eyelets on my bike did not line up with the support bars but the bars are pretty malleable so, it didn't take much effort to bend them until they lined up.
The rack seems noticeably well built. After installation, everything seems very solid and I don't feel like I'll have any issues on trips with it.
People that are saying this is heavy are splitting hairs and drawing comparisons to other high end/high priced products. I'm pretty sure this product is lighter than the Amazon box it comes in.
This rack is perfect for the vast majority of the people who will use it.
