Product Description
TotalBoat Aluminum Boat Paint gives aluminum and galvanized metal boats an attractive, corrosion-resistant, non-reflective low-sheen finish that improves concealment in natural settings. Great for aluminum duck boats, jon boats, bass boats, pontoon boats, trailers, and any other aluminum boats or boat parts, such as railings and spars. It comes in camo colors that you can apply one layer at a time to get a custom camouflage pattern, or mix together for a more realistic blend for your particular hunting or fishing area. You can apply it direct to metal and use it as a topcoat, or use it as a primer and apply the topcoat of your choice over it. This easy-to-use, water-based polyurethane can be applied directly to properly prepared substrates using a brush, roller, or spray gun. No need to etch the aluminum or prime first, which saves time and effort. You'll also finish faster because Aluminum Boat Paint dries extremely fast—overcoat in just 1 hour at 72°F, without sanding between coats. Before applying the final coat, wait 12 hours, sand lightly, and remove residue. Let the final coat dry for 48 hours, and you're ready to put the boat in the water. TotalBoat Aluminum Boat Paint can be used above or below the waterline on boats that float in fresh or salt water. This , chromate-free paint has an extremely low VOC content of 75 g/L, and very little odor. You'll also appreciate how easy it is to clean up with just a little soap and water. Low VOC smell and water for cleanup. I use the Khaki color that is a light green and has a flat finish. Other paints where mostly high gloss and I didn't want the glare. I use a little less than a 1/2 gallon to do the job.
It covered bare aluminum and sanded old paint with no lifting. I highly recommend this paint!

I know I’ll catch some heat for this but I did absolutely no prep on the boat before applying this paint, and went on perfectly. I was hesitant on the color because it’s so hard to get a solid idea of the shade from pictures but this was the exact shade I had in mind. I purchased 1qt and applied 2 coats, using 4” roller, inside and have plenty left over for touch ups when needed. This boat is outside all year is only used a few times a year for fishing or retrieving ducks (used redneck stencils for the bottomland camo). We have rocky clay around our banks and have seen little to no paint chipping even from launching off rough ground. Couldn’t be happier with this paint!
