I modified the tank and made a 5/8 Fuel Tank Pickup tube to 5/8 fuel hose to a pre filter with water/air/filter (10micron)capabilities to the bosch 044 to then a post pump filtration (2 micron) to a 3/8 fuel hose to stock fuel bowl with filter ( 7 micron (I no longer run this filter))=75 fuel psi at WOT.80psi past the pre and post filter, 78-80 psi after the third filterSaved about 300$ making my own system.

    When I ordered this, there were two units left. I don't know why it took a week to reach me, but I received the pump that supersedes the 044 (0 580 464 200), still sealed in the box and having a valid authenticity check number and hologram. This was a pleasant surprise, indeed.

    The only reason the value is 4-stars and not 5 is because Rock Auto has the same pump for $30 less

    As the title says, this pump is still going strong after 11 years of use on a supercharged 1987 Porsche 928 S4 that requires higher fuel pressures than stock. No leaks, and no loss of pressure or volume. That should easily answer longevity questions.

    I've user more than a few of these on a ton of cars, Some cars even used two of these.
    This thing is solid and feel high quality. Everything you needs for a typical setup is included. You might need parts if you are creating a funky project however.

    This thing solved my gas issues on a car that needed 72 PSI, and kept starving with every other pump I could find.

    Works good so far on my diesel truck. It's what my after market fuel system came with which was an authentic 044. Didn't last long tho. I called them and said its noisy (bearing noise) and the company that sold me the system said it was normal. Well that was not true. I tried a knock off pump and it didn't last more than a year (leaked fuel). This pump has worked the way it should, yes they are noisy(humming) but no bearing noise. So stick with a bosh pump and as best I can tell this is the real deal.Google has some info on how to spot the fakes. Wish I had gone after the company that sold me my first pump because I know it was defective.

    I bought this a few years ago to run on a Subaru rally car running a 34mm turbo restrictor - worked fine with low power levels, when I removed the turbo restrictor and tried to turn the boost up this pump is unable to push enough volume to maintain pressure (after about 280hp on my setup).

    Did some research and based on the lack of pressure, very low price, and some of the other reviews it is likely that I have a Chinese counterfeit unit. Buyer beware - it is possible that some or all of the units being sold from Amazon are counterfeit and you are risking your motor over $70 "savings".

    Second time I've seen a bosch security seal broken on delivery with a pump from amazon that I was worried would be a dud.

    However, the pump seemed fine, had correct markings. Have run several tanks through it without concern at high boost. Was a little noisey initially but has seemed to quiet down.

    Update: this pump no longer supports boost above 16-17psi. AFR climbs and this pump only supports around town commuting.

    This explains why both factory bosch seals were broken. This is a knock off pump.
