The Builder's Choice for Green Construction
Delta BreezGreenBuilder 80 CFM Exhaust Fan
Delta BreezGreenBuilder ventilation fans mark a new achievement in bathroom ventilation for green construction. Built upon market-leading energy efficiency, the BreezGreenBuilder has exceptionally low power consumption, virtually silent operation, and enhanced performance at 0.25-inch static pressure.
BreezGreenBuilder has a reliable Delta DC brushless motor, a compact lightweight design for quick installation, and sound and flow rating that far surpass building requirements; all at an affordable price.
CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute)
CFM is speed of 'air flow' - the amount of air extracted per minute when the fan is running. The amount of CFM needed is generally related to the size of area ventilated. More info on how to choose the right airflow at website.
Energy Savings
*Calculations based upon U.S. average retail electricity. Actual results may vary.
Sone Level is how loud the fan is to the human ear. Doubling the sone value means doubling the noise. The average 80 CFM bath fan runs at 0.8~2.5 sones. Delta Breez 80 CFM fans run as low as <0.3 sones. At less than 0.3 sones, the fan is virtually silent.
Why Choose Delta Breez?
Delta Breez offers high quality and top-performing bathroom ventilation fans of varying sizes, airflow levels, and features to fit any budget. Delta Breez fans are designed to control and reduce the moisture in your home to improve indoor air quality and decrease the risk of health problems. All Delta Breez fans are “quiet as a breeze” and ENERGY STAR qualified, which means that they have passed rigorous energy efficiency standards set by the EPA, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Low energy consumption lowers utilities bills and reduced emissions help to protect the environment, which in turn benefit you!
Powerful, Durable, and Quietly Efficient
Backed by over 25 years of innovation and consistent quality, the DC brushless motor technology inside every Delta Breez product is why Breez ventilation fans are setting a new industry standard for energy efficient performance.
Delta’s DC brushless motor fans are engineered to outlast popular AC models by as much as 70%, reducing the need for replacement. They’re precision engineered for low sound, down to less than 0.3 sones, the lowest sound rating of any exhaust fan. Delta’s DC brushless motor fans use 74% less power than popular AC motor exhaust fans.
What Makes Delta Breez Ventilation Fans Different?
All Delta Breez Ventilation Fans are manufactured with DC Brushless motor technology. They're all ENERGY STAR qualified and have soft start and lock protection functions. All Delta Breez Ventilation Fans are rigorously tested to achieve minimum noise and they're precision engineered to run continuously for 70,000 hours. All Delta Breez Ventilation Fans come with a 3-Year limited warranty.
Why is Ventilation Important?
Many of today's homes are airtight and highly insulated, which are good for cost and energy effective temperature control, but terrible for indoor air quality. Without adequate exhausting and exchange of indoor air to the outdoors, the concentration of pollutants indoors is often many times higher than that of the outdoors. To improve indoor air quality, pollutants must be exhausted, indoor air must be replaced by fresh outside air, and moisture must be controlled. This is best accomplished using ventilation systems.

We bought this for a new bath fan install in the bathroom - that is, installing a fan where there was none before. We wanted something that was automatic, that was low energy, and that was also not super quiet so folks could have some privacy while they did whatever they people do in bathrooms. This fan does all that and more.
Installation is a... breeze... The instructions were clear, and the thing well machined enough so that we were able to get it into place relatively easy. While I don't recommend it, I was able to install it by myself, without any help and especially without help from my cat who mostly watch with a disinterested flair. It's more amazing than it sounds, because I have the carpentry skill of a hollow rock.
This fan comes with two important things: an on-board humidity sensor, which can be adjusted or disabled; and a modest blue nightlight, which cannot be disabled without covering it or breaking it.
The humidity sensor is lovely - it's very cool to be able to just take a shower and have the fan come to life when the humidity rises to a set level. It's also very cool that you can leave the bathroom and trust that the fan will turn off on its own once the humidity drops back below that same level. You can also override that feature so the fan is always on, or wire it so that you can have the fan use the on-board humidity switch AND the wall switch, which kind of blew my mind.
The light is actually really nice. The little blue light is always on and reminds you that everything is just fine. It also shines enough light into the bathroom that you can take a shower with romantic electric blue ambiance if you'd like. You cannot, however, turn it off. The blue light turns to amber when the thing is actually running, so I guess I lied about the part where you can take a shower with a blue light. Sorry.
Wiring is easy enough - while my carpentry skills are nil, my wiring skills are modest. Mostly I replace fixtures and outlets. Wiring this up, even with the more complicated switch power AND sensor power circuits wasn't too complicated. The diagram is helpful, and the online site has another if you somehow lose yours.
Last thing is the sound - some of the reviewers will tell you that you cannot hear his thing when it's on. That is definitely not my experience. You can hear this thing just fine, and that's just the way we wanted it. It's not overpowering - you can still have a conversation on a cell phone, for example - but it's louder than quiet. That might be a facet of how we had to route the ducting in the crawlspace more than anything, but something to consider.
All in all I'm happy with the investment. It's a good fan.
There are brackets on the side of the chassis that allow you to screw it into a ceiling joist, and an electrical access panel with two slug cutouts which allow you to choose whether your electrical enters on the side or the top. Inside the electrical access panel is the standard black (hot), white (neutral), and green (ground) wires. The wires are 14 gauge twisted (not solid) core. The electrical access panel is held on by a single screw. Thats all there is to installation.
Upon turning on the fan, it takes 3-4 seconds to spin up to full speed, and it is very quiet. Our old fan came with the house and was very old, so I cannot say with any level of certainty how many sones it had, but this thing is quiet. You can clearly tell its on when in the bathroom, but close the bathroom door, and take a couple of steps down the hall and you'd never know it is on. This is very important to us, because our baby's nursery is right next to the bathroom, and the fan cannot be heard in the next room.
I also like the idea of the green LED that lets you know when its time to clean the fan. The plastic shroud is held on by tension clips, so it will be very easy to clean when the time comes.
That's really all I can say about this fan. Installation was a snap, the build quality seems good, and the fan is as quiet of a bathroom as I've ever heard. Only time will tell how well it holds up, but I know Delta makes a lot of ventilation products. Their PC case fans are considered some of the best out there, so I have no concerns that I will continue to be pleased with this fan for years to come.
