FAQ
1: Does a Solar Panel produce full power?
A: In most cases, it is normal for a solar panel to not be able to provide its full nominal power.
Factors affecting the performance of solar panels:
Peak Sun Hours, Sunlight Angle, Operating Temperature, Installation Angle, Panel Shading, Adjacent Buildings Etc...
2: How to test a solar panel?
A: The ideal conditions: Test in the noon, under a clear sky, panels should be at 25 degrees tilted towards the sun, and the battery is at a low state/less than 40% SOC. Disconnect the solar panel from any other loads, using a multimeter to test the panel's current and voltage.
3: How does temperature affect solar panel efficiency?
A: Solar panels are generally tested at about 77°F/25°C and are rated to perform at peak efficiency between 59°F/15°C and 95°F/35°C. Temperature going up or down will change the efficiency of the panels. For example, if the temperature coefficient of power is -0.5%, then the panel maximum power will be reduced by 0.5% for every 50°F/10°C rise.
4: How to install our solar panels using different brackets?
A: There are mounting holes on the panel frame for easy installation using a variety of brackets. Most compatible with Newpowa's Z-mount, tilt-adjustable mount, and pole/wall mount, making panel mounting suitable for a variety of applications.
5: Can I connect different solar panels together?
A: Though mixing different solar panels is not recommended, the mismatch can be achievable as long as each panel’s electrical parameters (voltage, current, wattage) are carefully considered.

1. Be aware that there are 72 cells on the panel (4 across and 18 down). If even ONE of those 72 cells has a shadow or leaf on it you will cut your total power output by 50%. I repeat that if one cell out of the 72 has a shadow on it you are severely limiting your output. For optimal power output of continuous 6 amps you need to have full sunlight hitting all 72 cells (rectangles).
2. I can routinely get steady 4-6 amps of power from this panel for 10 hours a day in bright sun.
3. My best decision was to mount this panel on a lightweight and mobile frame that I can move left or right and up and down to manually track the sun during the day. I have the panel on my patio in full sun from 8 am until 6 pm. My panel is facing southeast at 8 am, rotated about 40 degrees facing south at 11 am and rotated another 40 degrees facing southwest at about 3 pm. This simple manual tracking system TRIPLES my daily electrical output to my battery compared to a fixed and immovable installation.
4. The panel will produce small amounts of power (1 to 2 amps) even on overcast cloudy days.
5. I use this panel to keep my 100ah deep cycle battery charged and when using my 2000 watt inverter I can run (one at a time) all my power tools, 1000 watt microwave, 1400 watt vacuum cleaner, 900 watt coffee pot, operate LED lights, charge my phones, etc. The key to success is only using these items during the day (except the lights) when the panel is simultaneously charging the battery. I can even run a 5000 BTU air conditioner or a 750 watt space heater for about 2 hours before it starts to wear down my battery. I always keep an eye on my charge controller when using high drain devices to make sure my battery never gets drained more than 50%. This panel can always “top off” my battery to 100% before sunset each day.
Solar power is great, but it requires constant supervision for success. This is a very good panel.

Solar power is great, but it requires constant supervision for success. This is a very good panel.
The example of voltage is incorrect too, AC voltage is around 118vac RMS, anywhere from 110 to 125 can be expected depending on where you live. That's not 125v peak. Peak voltage for 120v RMS is 170v. He needs to read up on a voltage and dine waves in addition to what wattage means. He says he still stands by his comment, so given that, I would disregard his rating and his review. These panels are good.
HOWEVER ... Newpowa recently changed these panels! I bought 2 more of the same panels, so I can mount 2 on my trailer's roof and use the original pair on the ground as needed. When my testing showed lower output from the new panels in partial shade versus my original 2 panels, I checked the junction box on the back of the new panels and found that the center tap is missing. The old panels had a center tap with 2 diodes, so half of the panel could bypass in shade and still give output on the other half. There are still 2 diodes in the new panels, but they're just connected in series, with no connection to anything between them on the panel. Basically a waste of 1 diode, and now if you have any shade whatsoever, you lose output from the entire panel. Maybe that's why the price was reduced recently?? Bad move, Newpowa!
I would have given the original design 5 stars, but now they're 4 stars max. This is deceiving at best, since most people will think 2 diodes means 1/2 panel will bypass. Not anymore!!
By the way, for those not getting full rated power, you need an MPPT controller and large enough wire gauge to get full watts from solar panels. PWM controllers "clip" (throw away) any voltage over the charging voltage. So with this panel, if you're in the 14.6V boost charge mode on your controller, you lose 2.4V (= 17V at max power point - 14.6V charge voltage) right off the top. At full current with this panel (5.89A max power point), that's 14W loss, even in ideal conditions, before any other losses like cable loss and controller efficiency are factored in.

As for power output, these solar panels seem like they will live up to their ratings.
[EDIT] They did. Today, under full sun, I measured 104 watts AFTER the MPPT. These are legit 100 watt panels.
There are several reviews saying that these panels only put out 63 watts. That's what you'll get if you're running them off 12 volts with no MPPT. If you want the full 100+ watts you MUST use a MPPT.
