Product Description

Please see video in pictures gallery for installation advice.

Improved in June 2020, the genuine Posh Rulers Height Indicator Tape version 2.0 (made in USA) is made of a new material and sticking method that ensures the accuracy of height measurements ranging from 0 to 84” with 1/8” graduations and from 0 to 213 centimeter graduations.

Made for indoor use, it suits applications in the home, school, gym, hospital, clinic or vet surgery when you need to make a quick height measurement of people or animals.

Unlike vinyl and laminated height indicator tapes, the revised Posh Rulers Height Indicator Tape Version 2.0 uses a special substrate that can’t be stretched. As shown in the video, at a convenient 1 1/2” wide, Posh Rulers Height Indicator Tapes have been designed to suit common standard door frame casings (i.e. the frame that surrounds your door) for internal and entrance/exit doors. It just needs a clean, smooth surface for the bottom and top adhesive tabs to stick on (bumpy, porous and oily surfaces can prevent effective sticking). Of course, it can be stuck to a wall, glass or other clean and relatively smooth surfaces. Whatever you stick it on, as long as it has a flat surface that is at least 3” at the base (see video) to stick to and your wall is at least 82” high, then the tape will work perfectly. The video shows how simple it is to install.

Posh Rulers are proud to be made in the USA.

IT IS TERRIBLE!!! // IT'S EXCELLENT!!!
I purchased this item.IT IS TERRIBLE!!![IT'S EXCELLENT -- SEE MY SECOND UPDATE BELOW]So, what's so terrible?Well, it is supposed to be a tape measure! The tape measure is SUPPOSED TO BE 84 inches long (7 feet); however, the measurements ON THE TAPE I RECEIVED are inaccurate -- the inaccurate measurements cause the tape to longer than 84 + 1/2 inches! The tape I received added a little bit to every each -- by the end of the tape (84 inches), the tape was 84 + 1/2 long.I purchased a 1x2' board which was 8 feet long to mount this tape measure (so that I could move it from room to room as a measuring rod to build some cabinets). I cut my 8 foot (96 inches) board down to 84 + 1/4 inches (in order to leave an extra quarter inch). I, then, carefully positioned and mounted the measuring tape to the board. When I finished, the measuring tape was LONGER THAN THE BOARD! I thought: "Maybe I measured the board wrong!" I went and got the tape measure which I had used to measure the board; and, sure enough, the board was 84 and 1/4 inches long -- just what I had measured! I set the measuring tape I had used to measure the board next to this measuring tape and THERE WAS A DISCREPANCY -- this measuring tape was TOO LONG! It was MORE THAN 84 inches long - yet, it is supposed to be 84 inches! I got another one of my tape measures to compare my measurements -- both of my other tape measures were within a 64th of an inch. This tape measure was about A HALF OF AN INCH WRONG! As I compared the tape measures, this tape added an extra amount at each inch. They, both, started at zero. At one inch, they were about the same. At 12 inches, this tape was MORE THAN 12 inches. By the time a got to about 60 inches (5 feet), this tape measure was more than a quarter of an inch longer. At the end (84 inches - 7 feet), this tape measure was longer by about half an inch! It's totally useless -- it is inaccurate! If I had used it to construct my cabinets, everything would have been wrong!I am glad I was able to discover this inaccuracy BEFORE I relied upon it!!!(Obviously, I am getting my money back!)P.S. It is well marked and easy to hang -- it's just wrong! (The other reviewer, probably, never compared it to an accurate tape measure.)UPDATE: In response to my review (above), a video was uploaded to YouTube promoting the accuracy of the Posh Height Indicator Tape -- apparently, attempting to refute my review (notice that the date the video was uploaded was a few days after my review). To provide an unbiased response, I uploaded a complementary video to YouTube (see insert). A reviewer on the YouTube video I had posted postulated because ALL three of the measuring tapes I had used were metal tapes, ALL of them shrunk by the exact same amount -- thus, it was not the Posh Tape which was inaccurate -- rather, ALL of the measuring tapes I had used were inaccurate (by the exact same amount).Accordingly, I used my very precise, 100-foot long, FIBERGLASS measuring tape (which is not metal and does not shrink), and compared it to the Post Tape -- thus, the second set of photos. The fiberglass measuring tape confirmed the accuracy of ALL three of the metal measuring tapes I had used in the video (in addition to confirming the accuracy of another, white, metal measuring tape I had used in my initial photographs),See the second set of photographs comparing the Posh Tape to the fiberglass tape.SECOND UPDATE: In response to my review - noting the inaccuracy of the Posh Tape I had received, the manufacturer sent me a replacement tape! (I didn't even ask for it); the manufacturer, apparently, prides itself on the accuracy of their measuring tapes, and the manufacturer was surprised that the tape I had received was inaccurate (a defect -- it happens). I am pleased to report that, upon careful analysis, the second Posh Tape I received is 100% accurate -- which is really good because I wanted a quality-made, accurate, height-indicator tape. [I took another video; however, due to Amazon's policy, I can only upload one video. You'll have to just take my word for it that the second tape is accurate.]Now, the lesson is -- this is a well-made, highly visible, and good quality height-indicator tape; you'll just have to CHECK ITS ACCURACY before you rely upon it for accurate measurements. If the tape happens to be inaccurate, Posh stands by its guarantee and will send you another one!I have adjusted the stars (from one star) to reflect the quality of the tape; and to, more importantly, inform you of, and express my appreciation for, their EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE (from my experience -- if there is something wrong, they will make it right)!.(I'd give it five stars -- were it not for the disappointment I, initially, experienced, and the extra trouble it created.)(Heck, I just changed it to five stars (from four stars) -- it is AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT, and they had great quality, hassle-free, customer service,)They deserve five stars!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars We're warned it's innacurate if you stretch it, but mine was innacurate UNTIL I stretched it!
Reviewed in the United States on November 2, 2019
I held a free EKG and pulmonary function testing clinic for my patients last week. I measured the height and weight of each patient beforehand, so the computerized PFT calculations would be correct, and eight patients in a row reacted strongly when I told them what their height measured. They all thought they were taller, as would be expected, which I reassured them was the common loss of vertebral height that occurs to everyone as they age.

I used this adhesive Height Indicator Tape Ruler sold by POSH RULERS to get patient's exact height at the office. Why pay $400 for a used, fancy medical stadiometer when 2 products from Amazon can do the same thing for 50 bucks. Located on the door frame next to my 400-pound-capacity digital scale, it has large print with easy-to read numbers, along with the words 'Made in America' proudly stamped on one end.

After so many consecutive patients complained they were taller than what I measured, I decided to investigate. It was correctly positioned on the wall, with both 0 inch and 0 cm marks at the floor, so it had a very accurate starting point and there should not be a problem. But as the attached picture shows, despite the problem of parralax, it measures 1/8 of an inch short for every 6 inches in length. (Tape measure is zeroed at 73", and at 67" it is already measuring 1/8" short. Thinking maybe it was made overseas and the metric scale might be accurate, I tested that side. And just like the Imperial scale printed along the left side, the metric scale on the right side was also inaccurate by the same amount!

I still can’t wrap my head around this. What does the QA department at this factory do all day? They sell a product that can only do one thing – and that purpose requires accuracy. That’s why people buy it! And all the QA supervisor has to do is ensure the measuring scale is accurate. So he or she walks in at 8 am and pulls out a tape measure from their pocket or purse. They slap it down on the assembly line and check to see that they line up. How long can that take?
